Selectmen appoint Ellms as board chair, address police staffing

NH SUGAR HILL — Sugar Hill Select Board appoints Chris Ellms as board chair and Rose Ellms as volunteer Deputy Emergency Management Director by a 2-0 vote with one abstention. Select Board members Chris Ellms, Richard Bielefield, and Rusty Talbot reorganized leadership as the board addressed operational concerns. Police Chief Mike Ho-Song-Loy reported the department is short one part-time officer due to injury and is actively recruiting additional part-time staff.
The Chief also flagged that the generator at the Crapo Building, now 26 years old, may need replacement and will seek quotes and investigate available grant funding.
