Selectboard advances Coffin Pond dam redesign

misc · Meeting of May 18, 2026

NH SUGAR HILL — Sugar Hill Selectboard pursues Coffin Pond dam redesign. Selectmen Chris Ellms, Richard Bielefield, and Rusty Talbot voted unanimously to approve prior meeting minutes and heard progress on the state-to-town land transfer at Coffin Pond, with a new dam design expected by week's end under a proposed ARM grant supported by former DES director Harry Stewart and local volunteers. The board also scheduled a June 1 tri-town meeting with Franconia and Easton and voted to request that NHEC not use Dicamba in the Streeter Pond vegetation management program.

The Transfer Station Committee will restart with a May 16 meeting.
