NH SUGAR HILL — Sugar Hill Select Board hears 2026 budget with retention-focused police pay increases. Town Administrator Jennifer Gaudette presented the proposed budget at a budget hearing with department heads, highlighting a 6.7 percent police budget increase aimed at salary competitiveness and retention. Fire Chief Allan Clark noted a 2.6 percent increase for the Fire Department to install dry hydrants, while Ambulance services received a 4 percent increase.
The board hired Sugar Hill resident and longtime builder Doug Amsbary as the new building inspector, replacing Dave Wiley.
