Sugar Hill Conservation Commission explores invasive species remediation

NH SUGAR HILL — Sugar Hill's Conservation Commission outlined plans to address invasive species and recreational use at Coffin Pond and Town Forest. The board discussed inviting UNH Extension Service specialist Laura Sokoloski to a March meeting to help identify invasive plants and develop management strategies. Commission member Larry Sawyer will contact Sokoloski and ask the Select Board about liability concerns related to a potential skating path on Coffin Pond.
The commission also plans to post no-OHRV signs and alert police following recent unauthorized 4-wheeler activity on the pond.
